HOW THE LIST WORKS
  • Our current Association members emails are already entered into our listserv tool. Not a member yet? Send a request to tristateassociation@gmail.com and our admins will add you.
  • When you send an email to tristate@gaggle.email every member of the list will get the email.  That's all there is to it.

  1. Who is eligible for out ListServe  
    All members must employed by a store, college, or vendor that is a member of Tri-State. Any Bookstore employees, Auxiliary Services Directors, or regional product/service representatives may join the Group.
  2. What are appropriate discussion topics for the ListServ? 
    There are a wide variety of possibilities here. You may share announcements, ideas, news about your store…even a funny Bookstore moment or two here or there. However, the primary use of the Group is to ask questions and provide and share ideas among its members.
  3. What are inappropriate discussion topics for the ListServ? 
    Anything vulgar or that directly criticizes another store, its personnel, or that directly criticizes a vendor rep will not be posted.  The current Tri-State president and immediate past president will act as moderators, and all postings and replies will go through them before posting (thus, you will sometimes experience a delay before your question or comment is posted). The Group may not be used for commercial transactions.
  4. What information can vendors post to the ListServ?
    1. Vendors may not, under any circumstances, send unsolicited product or other promotional emails to the Group. These emails will be rejected.
    2. Vendors may respond to questions about product sourcing raised by store members. However, pricing and promotional information should not be included in these responses. Vendors may always respond directly with price/promo info to the Group member raising the question.
    3. Vendor participation in the Group is welcomed and encouraged given the above guidelines.
  5. How does it work?

  6. Why have a Tri-State Group? 
    While the NACS resources are extremely useful, sometimes you may need a more regional perspective...and sometimes you just want the perspective of people you know. Want to share information about a recent shoplifting occurrence? Are you having problems with a supplier that serves only the Upper Midwest? Do you want perspective on a textbook bill in your home state?  These are the types of questions where a regional point of view is more useful.
  7. How do I or others join the Group?

  8. How do I or others leave the list?
    You may leave the list at any time by sending an e-mail to tristate@gaggle.email requesting to unsubscribe from the Group.
